60 Years on the Outer Banks and Counting
In the late 1960s, a small carpet store opened its doors in Manteo — one of the few places locals could go to source quality flooring for their homes and businesses. The OBX was different then. Quieter. Tighter-knit. And this little shop became a trusted, reliable local source people could count on.
As the Outer Banks grew — more homes, more hotels, more construction, more demand — so did the business. What started as a carpet shop slowly expanded its offerings, its expertise, and its reach across the coast. The foundation was always the same: show up, source the best materials, and take care of the people who trust you with their projects.
Where We Are Today
Reborn as Atlantic Flooring and Tile in the early 2000’s, we're now far more than a flooring store. We're a full-service contractor and material supplier serving homeowners, builders, hotels, restaurants, commercial spaces, and even custom marine interiors. We also supply cabinets, hardware, siding, and a wide range of specialty materials — because when you've been doing this as long as we have, people know they can call you for just about anything.
We work alongside the most respected builders and contractors on the coast, and we handle projects ourselves from start to finish. The result is as much a partner as it is a service provider — one that's been earning the trust of the Outer Banks community for over 60 years and has no plans of slowing down.
